Evan B.
Private tutor in Clarkston, MI
Education
I have earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Mathematics and Economics,, with about 24 credit hours in statistics, from Oakland University in June 2014. My tenure at the university started in September 2009 and my final GPA for both programs was 3.33 out of 4.0. I have also taken several credit hours in upper level Spanish courses, which have added to my proficiency in the language.
Experience
I have experience tutoring college-level students through an academic skills center at Oakland University. Most of the students with whom I have dealt were pursuing applied business, accounting, economics and engineering degrees. In addition, I have engaged privately with many of the students outside of classroom hours to assist in exam preparation. My formal training in mathematics includes courses such as a year of introductory real analysis (Advanced Calculus I & II), a year of Mathematics Statistics (Bayesian and Frequentist) as well as a semester of Abstract Algebra. I also keep my mathematical skills sharp in my spare time through doing problem sets and exploring new regression techniques.

Hobbies
One of my biggest hobbies is acquiring new mathematics through independent study; however, I am also an avid trombone and piano player with an interest in incorporating improvisational styles from a variety of jazz greats. I also like the occasional long-distance run and look forward to training for my first marathon.
